Description :
A charming Meissen porcelain dish in the iconic Blue Onion pattern, formed in a stylized leaf shape with a scalloped rim and sculpted handle. Hand-painted in cobalt blue on crisp white porcelain, the floral and botanical motifs reflect Meissen’s enduring legacy of 18th-century design. Compact yet elegant, this piece is ideal for serving sweets, holding small items, or displaying in a curio cabinet. There is marking from the original manufactur: "Cöln", which could be used to date the piece along with other markings. "Cöln" is an old German spelling for the city of Cologne (Köln) that was used from 1857 to 1919. Another notable mark is the single sword, an uncommon specimen. The mark of "Ernst Teichert". Porcelain and pottery marks - Ernst Teichert marks: "Johann Friedrich Ernst Teichert was a brother of Carl Teichert. Ernst worked for Carl as a plant leader in his factory. He became independent in 1869 establishing a stove tile factory in Cölln near Meissen. In 1884 Ernst founded a porcelain factory in Cölln. He died just two years later. The factory was overtaken by his son, Christian Teichert who decided to transform the firm into a stove files producer. In 1901 the factory was transformed into a limited company Ernst Teichert GmbH.In 1930 three companies Carl Teichert Meissen, Ernst Teichert GmbH and the Meissner Wandplattenwerke Saxonia GmbH formed Teichertwerke Meissen group."
