Description :

We just about danced when we found these In-Flight suitcases in our clients' items - shades of our childhood visits to Grandma's house! It's rare to find a set of 3 vintage fabric suitcases in such good condition as these - they are made of tough waterproofed fabric with zip-closure/buckle, white plastic sturdy handles, and white pleather trim that complements the bright floral fabric print. All three are identical in design on the outside with slight variations on ribbon ties inside. There are exterior front zip pockets and the interiors are in taupe vinyl with clothes ties & another pocket. The original key to the locks is also here! These were made in Japan for the Hemenway Company of Portland, OR.

The two smaller bags are fairly clean (they were stored inside the larger one), with the larger showing a bit of dusty dirt & previous use - the last 4 photos show the places with the most wear - the marks might be removeable with a good cleaner & we would recommend scrubbing down all 3 cases to shake off the storage dust. There don't seem to be issues on any of the cases in terms of zippers or fabric. Note that the white plastic interior supports on the corners can be molded with heat and moved/straightened if desired as they are a bit bent right now from storage. Because one of the supports is missing from the large case, we would suggest just cutting new ones out of a sheet of plastic for the set - it helps closing the zippers when the bag is full.

PAYMENT DETAILS

Placing a bid is an agreement to purchase. If you win, you must pick up your item(s). If you default on your purchase, your bidding privileges will be revoked permanently. Do not bid if you do not plan to purchase.If you bid, you MUST be available/arrange for pick-up of purchases on the pick-up date unless you have made prior shipping arrangements. Bring necessary tools and help for picking up large items. Loading assistance is NOT available. Some items may be located on a 2nd floor, out building.

Invoices are emailed to winning bidders once the sale has completely closed.Full payment must be made by 8:00 p.m. the day after auction closes. If total payment is not received before the pick-up date & time, items will be forfeited, and bidding privileges revoked.

Pick-up information will be on the invoice e-mailed after the auction closes.All items not picked up during the designated times will be considered abandoned and may be donated or resold. When possible, and at our sole discretion, an alternate pick-up time may be arranged. If this is possible, an appropriate fee will be charged.

A 10% Buyer's Premium and Sales Tax are added to the winning bid amount when invoiced. Sales tax is waived for licensed re-sellers.

We make every effort to describe lot items as accurately as possible. Expect normal signs of wear associated with antiques, vintage, and used items. We do not list every flaw.
