Description :
This was the polished piece with flowing bands of cream, brown, red, and white. A jasper–agate mix, formed when silica-rich fluids filled cavities in volcanic rock and deposited layers over time. Swirling, painterly banding Warm iron‑oxide colors Natural pits from gas bubbles or incomplete filling A blend of opaque jasper and more translucent agate It’s essentially volcanic art — chaotic chemistry frozen into stone. This was the translucent, silky mineral you held in your hand. Selenite, a clear crystalline form of gypsum. Pearly, glowing translucence Straight, parallel cleavage lines Very soft and easily scratched Forms in evaporating lakebeds and desert basins It has a serene, luminous quality that makes it feel almost otherworldly. This was the white-and-silver stone with shiny flakes. A muscovite–quartz schist, a metamorphic rock rich in mica. Silvery, reflective mica sheets White quartz matrix Layered, foliated texture Formed from shale under heat and pressure It’s a textbook example of how metamorphism reorganizes minerals into aligned, sparkling layers.
