Description :
Charming vintage electric table lamp featuring a hand‑painted floral glass shade, ornate gold‑toned base, and decorative finial. The lamp is labeled “PORTABLE LAMP ISSUE NO. 6 84” and carries the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) safety mark, indicating it met nationally recognized electrical safety standards at the time of manufacture. Classic styling and warm tones make this an elegant accent for traditional or vintage‑inspired interiors. Company History (UL):
Underwriters Laboratories, founded in 1894, is one of the oldest and most respected product‑safety testing organizations in the United States. UL played a major role in establishing early electrical safety standards as household electricity became widespread in the early 20th century. By the mid‑1900s, UL certification had become the benchmark for safe consumer lighting, ensuring that wiring, switches, and components met rigorous testing requirements. A UL label on a vintage lamp like this confirms it was produced by a manufacturer compliant with these nationally recognized safety protocols. Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Glass shade is free of cracks or chips; base shows light wear and patina consistent with age. Notes:
Tested and functional. Inline switch on cord is not original- rewired to modern controls. Bulb not included. Please review photos for details. A collectible and functional vintage lighting piece with decorative appeal.
