Description :
Measures 23" W × 19.5" H (framed) Christmas Eve Delivery is a nostalgic winter aviation scene painted in acrylic by Ross Buckland. The composition centers on a vintage U.S. Mail biplane gliding through a moonlit sky above a snow‑covered village. The warm glow of windows, the steepled church, and the quiet rooftops below contrast beautifully with the crisp night air and the luminous full moon behind the aircraft. Buckland’s brushwork captures both the serenity of a winter night and the quiet heroism of early mail pilots who flew in all conditions to keep remote communities connected. The palette—cool blues, soft whites, and warm amber accents—creates a peaceful, storybook atmosphere. Presented in a dark wood frame with a neutral mat, the piece has a timeless, Americana feel ideal for seasonal or year‑round display. Ross Buckland is an American painter known for his detailed, narrative‑driven works that often celebrate historic aviation, rural landscapes, and Americana themes. His paintings frequently blend technical accuracy with a warm, nostalgic sensibility, making them popular with collectors of aviation art and traditional representational painting. Buckland’s work has appeared in regional exhibitions, private collections, and themed showcases focused on early flight and mid‑century American life. His style is marked by careful draftsmanship, atmospheric lighting, and a storytelling approach that invites viewers into a specific moment in time. About the Artist — Ross Buckland
