Description :

This vibrant 1980 acrylic painting by Danny Mayes captures music legend Stevie Wonder with the joyful, expressive energy that defines both the artist and the subject. Mayes uses bold, saturated greens and yellows to create a lively backdrop, while Stevie’s iconic sunglasses, broad smile, and flowing hair are rendered with loose, confident brushwork. The portrait radiates warmth and personality—hallmarks of Mayes’ early figurative work.

Signed “MAYES ’86” in the lower right, the piece reflects the artist’s signature blend of realism and expressive color, giving the portrait a sense of movement and musical rhythm
