Description :
A detailed, atmospheric watercolor depicting a busy stretch of I‑5 in Seattle, rendered with Zupan’s characteristic precision and soft tonal control. Cars move along the freeway beneath a low‑descending commercial airliner, creating a dynamic intersection of ground and air travel. Overhead highway signage clearly marks the approach to Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, anchoring the scene in a recognizable regional landmark. The sky is layered with muted clouds, giving the composition a sense of motion and Pacific Northwest light. Zupan’s disciplined draftsmanship and clean washes bring clarity to the roadway structures, vehicles, and aircraft, transforming a familiar Seattle commute into a vivid urban study. JM Zupan is an American watercolorist known for realist, transportation‑focused compositions that often feature highways, aircraft, industrial corridors, and the everyday infrastructure of modern life. His work blends technical accuracy with atmospheric subtlety, using controlled washes and crisp linework to capture scenes of movement and urban rhythm. Zupan’s paintings frequently resonate with collectors who appreciate aviation art, regional realism, and depictions of the Pacific Northwest’s transportation landscape. His pieces are recognized for their clarity, balanced compositions, and the ability to elevate ordinary commuter moments into compelling visual narratives. 26 W x 19TArtist Bio — J.M. Zupan
