Description :

Mid-Century Modern Czechoslovakian Art Glass Bowl – Harrachov Glassworks, c. 1958

An exceptional, museum-quality example of Bohemian mid-century modern design, this heavy art glass sculptural bowl was produced by the historic Harrachov Glassworks in Czechoslovakia circa 1958.

Executed with masterful technical precision, the piece features an organic, organic-lobed form utilizing the sophisticated sommerso (cased) technique. A deep, rich emerald green glass core is seamlessly suspended within a thick, brilliant clear glass exterior casing. The undulating, fluid rim highlights the freeform nature of this entirely mouth-blown object, resulting in a mesmerizing interplay of light, refraction, and optical depth.

Designed during a golden era of Czech post-war glass artistry, this highly collectible sculptural piece functions beautifully as a decorative centerpiece, catchall, or standalone architectural accent.
