Description :
An Impressive Mid-Century Italian Hand-Hammered Copper Ewer Vase Attributed to Egidio Casagrande (1911–1962) or Artigiani Trentini, circa 1950. A large-scale mid-century modern artisan copper pitcher-form vessel, featuring a dramatically flared, scalloped pouring rim above a constricted neck and a bulbous shoulder, tapering smoothly down to a slender conical base. The structure is flanked by a heavily faceted, thick arched strap handle secured to the body with authentic heavy-gauge copper rivets. The entire exterior surface exhibits fine, hand-hammered geometric chasing that beautifully captures and refracts ambient light. An exceptional example of mid-20th-century Italian decorative metalwork, this vessel bridges brutalist textures with elegant, fluid modernism. Its tall, statuesque profile makes it a compelling standalone sculptural object or floor vase. Artist / Historical Note; Egidio Casagrande was a master Italian metal sculptor based in Borgo Valsugana (Trento). Famous for his commanding command of copper and brass, Casagrande worked briefly in Hollywood before returning to Italy to lead a highly successful artisan workshop. His distinctive hand-hammered finishes and swooping, animalistic spouts became iconic staples of elite mid-century European design galleries.
