Description :

A stately traditional headboard with a glossy cherry-look finish paired with a set of ornate wall accents, so the whole bedroom wall comes together in one lot.

Details

  • Headboard: Broken pediment crown with dentil molding and a center urn finial, flanked by turned posts with acorn-style finials. Approx. 59 1/8" x 67 3/8"
  • Bed Size: Queen
  • Wall Shelves (2): Pair of half-moon wall shelves with black bases and scrolled acanthus-leaf brackets in an antiqued red and gold finish. Approx. 11.25" x 7.5"
  • Candle Sconces: Gold-tone filigree wall sconces with fluted candle cups, in a Hollywood Regency style. Approx. 3.5" x 10.5"
  • Condition: Used. The headboard has chipping at the base of one post and wear around the rail brackets. The shelves and sconces are in good condition with light wear. Sold as-is.
  • Estimated Value: $60–$140

Highlights

  • Style: Colonial-inspired lines that pair well with traditional or cottage bedrooms. Makes a great guest room upgrade.
  • A Matched Look: Hang a shelf and a sconce on either side of the bed. The deep red-gold finish and ornate scrollwork pick up the headboard's rich cherry tone and classical details for a finished, symmetrical wall.
  • A Bit of History: The broken pediment, a triangular top with a gap in the middle, was borrowed from classical architecture and became a signature of 18th-century Chippendale and Queen Anne furniture.
