Description :

Vintage MTU-made tin wind-up Captain Robot from Korea. He works, but more like the tortoise than the hare - he walks fairly slowly, but once he starts it takes a LOOOOONG time for him to wind down. In good vintage shape with no obvious flaws. We know he is pre-1991 manufacture given our client's inventory sticker on the bottom (client ususally dated when he got items). We saw a listing for this robot that "sparked" from its chest, but our guy has opted not to play with fire. Grey with red, white, blue an black paint with grey plastic legs, arms, & ears. Measures 5.5" H.

Mr. Robot The Mechanical Brain from Ha Ha Toys of China - model #MS 645 - is a reproduction of a 1950s Alps Japanese robot. Mr. Robot works on both winding up and a single AA battery. The battery powers his blinking light hands while the windup powers his feet. Unfortunately, when we put a battery in his head, only his right hand lit up - the left hand appears to be "pushed in" a bit and may have been damaged at some point. Obviously something with his mechanism is not running smoothly. However, he looks pretty good and most of us would want him for display anyhow. He has only a couple of small cosmetic flaws: a bit of very slight wear on his legs and some missing red paint on his shirt - see last photo. Otherwise, he is really a fine example of retro robot style. Comes with his original box. Measures approx. 8.5" H.
