6 “wooden nickels” & 5 pressed pennies.
Set of 5 identical Neil Armstrong “wooden nickels” celebrating
Armstrong’s hometown of Wapakoneta, Ohio; 4 are used, one is new in packaging.
All have Apollo 11 module on the front with the date and info on the verso. An
additional slightly different “nickel” from the same period is also included –
“The Eagle has Landed” with the small step quote rather than the hometown being
lauded. From 1969. Measure 2.5” W.
5 Kansas Cosmosphere pressed pennies – all different. The
Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, KS, holds the restored Apollo 13 command module and
the restored Liberty Bell 7 module.
