Description :
Vintage multi-media set (1 vinyl LP & 50 color slides) covering the
flights of Apollo 8, 9, 10, and 11. Narrated by Col. John “Shorty” Powers who
was known as the “Voice of Mission Control” during the early moon flights.
(Interesting tidbit: Powers is credited with introducing the phrase “A-OK” into
common speech.) This set includes a vinyl LP which is to be played as the accompanying 50
slides are shown; a chime sounds when you move to the next slide. Powers
describes what is being seen and gives a history of the program and his
colleagues in it. 1969 from H & W Imagineering Co. Inc. LP not tested, but no egregious scratches noted when photographing. Each
slide is clearly labeled in order, but the slide film has aged and become
rather reddish-tinted. Comes in original box which is in ok condition showing
wear & tears at the corner joins.
