Description :

Pair of Japanese tin litho toys – great display pieces! Both toys have great graphic detail and are in good cosmetic condition. Each is supposed to have movement/action of some kind. Unfortunately, they both look good rather than operate; thus they would be great for display since their flaws aren’t visually apparent.

1960s Apollo X tin & plastic spaceship from China – no maker mark. Runs on 2 “C” batteries & should “pop up” to standing position while blue panels at top drop down to expose the capsule interior. Since the mechanism to make the “pop” isn’t working, we were unable to release the panels – we’re sure there’s some way to, but didn’t want to force it just for photo purposes; we leave that up to the toy aficionado who will probably repair the whole mechanism. Measures 16” L from nose tip to thrusters.

Skyhawk Bell-2 jet with US Navy insignia from Japanese manufacturer Asahi Toy - 1960s. This toy has red, white, and blue paint with all parts intact (note that the wings detach for storage as shown). This is a friction-run toy, but while you can rev it up, it doesn’t move when left on its own. Measures approx. 7.5” L and comes with original box in acceptable vintage shape.
