Description :
Moon-Themed Ephemera Seattle Post Intelligencer
Newspaper – July 21 1969 with headline “MOON WALK – One Small Step for Man, One
Giant Leap for Mankind” Interesting reading about the moon landing – much of
the first section is dedicated to it. Other sections cover Indira Ghandi’s
leadership, hydroplane races, Ted Kennedy facing criminal charges over
Chappaquiddick, etc. (Thought we'd throw in a house price for Green Lake for the locals). LOG OF APOLLO
11 booklet. 1969. NASA EP-72 (Washington DC). 12 pages. Color booklet of
pictures and info about the flight. Good vintage condition.
“Destination Moon”
comic book released in conjunction with the movie of the same title in 1950 – published
by Fawcett. Trio of vintage vinyl EPs – 1) Metropolitan
Life’s “Lunar Landing – Man on the Moon” from 1969. Also has a fold-out chart
that serves as the record sleeve. No major scratches noticed. 2) MGM Records’
“First Man on the Moon – July 1969” with Hugh Downs narrating. No major
scratches noticed, but vinyl could definitely use a good scrub. 3) CBS News’
“Man on the Moon” with Walter Cronkite narrating. No major scratches noticed. “The Story of the Moon” booklet by Robert I.
Johnson. Circa late 1960s (notes that men will “probably” be on the moon by
1970). Details lunar surface elements, has a small quiz, and presents topics
such as eclipses and mass/density on the Moon. Dedicated to Apollo 8.
