Description :
Wonderful tin
litho Cape Canaveral missile base model from Louis Marx. Co. Includes
instructions for assembly, informational book about Cape Canaveral IRL, USAF decals,
buildings, missiles, gantry, worker figures, a phonograph record for making
your launches sound real, and the still-intact in original shrink-wrap &
box Missile Control Center. Our client took many of the pieces out of the box,
looked at them, and repackaged them. Please note that this is NOT one of the
original sets from the 1960s, but the authorized reproduction using the same
molds done in 1996 – model #4521. Thus, everything – including the box - is
still in great condition. Please note that we didn’t check that every single
piece is here, but given our client’s penchant for completeness and
authenticity, we are pretty sure it's intact. The client bought the set directly
from Marx (original receipt is included) so pieces haven’t gone through others’
hands.
Possible
bonus: the pictured Marx-Atomic phonograph record of missile launches isn’t
pictured in photos of the repro set online; records were on their way out by
the mid-90s. We think our client may have purchased this separately from
another collector; it seems to be from the original 1960s production run given
its slight yellowing (he was a very
complete collector!). The new owner can look into this.
Box measures
approx. 15” H x 23” W x 5” D. Box only! https://www.ebay.com/itm/166892524961 Complete set:
