Description :
Space Writing/Journals Old & New
4 issues of SPACE JOURNAL which was dedicated to Astro-Sciences. One from 1958 and three from 1959. Very detailed science-oriented journal addressed topics such as qualifications for astronauts, laws of probability on other planets, space and law, amateur rocketry and neutrinos. All four issues are in excellent vintage shape and great period science writing looking at larger questions such as the purpose of man and his place in the galaxy. (Note – this is a serious journal – cover price is 50 cents; more than double general reader magazine prices for the period).
2 Issues of SPACE TIMES from the American Astronautical Society from 2000 & 2001. Again, a journal/magazine for serious space fans. Details the International Space Station future, a bunch of physics stuff we don’t understand, and satellites. In excellent condition with only a few signs of wear.
6 Issues of SPACE AND TELESCOPE from 1966, 1967, & 1968. Again, a wonderful publication for the truly dedicated – topics include planetarium construction (Mauna Kea), solar astronomy, book reviews, meteorites, latest pictures from the moon, Mercury’s rotation, etc. These issues formerly belonged to the Tacoma library and show use with numerous loose pages, but are still in very readable shape with lots of interesting ads for the latest telescope equipment. Note that one issue (May 1967) is missing its front cover.
