Apollo 11 Official Mission
Portrait. We are really unsure about the signatures on this photo – under
magnification we don’t see pixels so it appears the signatures are not printed.
You can see loops and cross-over ink, but that doesn’t rule out an autopen –
one of our expert bidders pointed out that they started to be used in the
1970s. That said, the ink is not uniformly black across each signature as
usually noted in autopen signatures. Please see the close-up photos and
determine for yourself. Note – we have had no issues with any of this client’s signed
memorabilia in previous auctions; we believe these signatures are authentic given
the client’s connections/collecting habits. However, please be advised that we
have not had them officially authenticated by experts.
