Description :

Entitled “Rhymes & Reasons”, this print by James C. Christensen (1942 – 2017) focuses on 73 classic nursery rhymes and their fantastical worlds. The print’s title is written beneath the middle panel; the artist’s inscription “Enjoy the Rhymes” along with his signature and “1997” on the lower right – are all in gold ink. The gold ink is ON the glass surface rather than the paper beneath (although the middle panel does appear to be signed under the glass too – see last photo.). This appears to be an open edition done by The Greenwich Workshop in the 1990s.

The framing on this is exquisite with linen embossed mat, green spacer, and gilt gold beading next to the print. The gold gilt frame is in very good condition. On the reverse is a picture wire and an envelope from the Greenwich Workshop with information on the print. Also included is an illustrated booklet from Christensen on the nursery rhymes and a hardcover book on the artist from 1994 (both from Greenwich Workshops.)

All items are in excellent condition. Print measures approx. 27” H x 47” W framed.

NOTE: Because of its size, this item is available only for local pickup - shipping costs would be prohibitive. Another Christensen print unframed is up for bid in Lot # 220.

PAYMENT DETAILS

Placing a bid is an agreement to purchase. If you win, you must pick up your item(s). If you default on your purchase, your bidding privileges will be revoked permanently. Do not bid if you do not plan to purchase.If you bid, you MUST be available/arrange for pick-up of purchases on the pick-up date unless you have made prior shipping arrangements. Bring necessary tools and help for picking up large items. Loading assistance is NOT available. Some items may be located on a 2nd floor, out building.

Invoices are emailed to winning bidders once the sale has completely closed.Full payment must be made by 8:00 p.m. the day after auction closes. If total payment is not received before the pick-up date & time, items will be forfeited, and bidding privileges revoked.

Pick-up information will be on the invoice e-mailed after the auction closes.All items not picked up during the designated times will be considered abandoned and may be donated or resold. When possible, and at our sole discretion, an alternate pick-up time may be arranged. If this is possible, an appropriate fee will be charged.

A 10% Buyer's Premium and Sales Tax are added to the winning bid amount when invoiced. Sales tax is waived for licensed re-sellers.
