Derrick Demetrius Coleman (born June 21, 1967) is a retired American professional basketball player known for his impressive skills as a power forward. He played college basketball at Syracuse University, where he established himself as one of the nation's top prospects.
In the 1990 NBA Draft, Coleman was selected first overall by the New Jersey Nets.
