Description :

Matthew Patton is known for functional heel thrown and slab built stoneware and porcelain functional pottery high fired in reduction gas kiln. Patton is best known for his wall platters. Surface techniques include the overall application of deep reds, cobalt blues, and other brightly hued glazes in broad geometric patterns or organic designs. Patton considers each piece to mainly be a vehicle for expressive glazes.

For this auction we have a 13' tall hand decorated heavy glazed pitcher by Matthew Patton. The underside of the piece is a natural unglazed white clay with nice texture. This finely crafted pitcher measures 16" tall and 5.5" wide with a angular piece that slides through the middle. The underside base is signed Patton and dated 1989. It is in nice original condition.

Dimensions are approximate.
