Description :
From the Source Perrier Collection.
Regent Writing Table -
Prized and sought after in the late 1700's, these D shaped super structure desks were popularized by England's renown furnituremaker, Thomas Sheraton.
Exquisitely rendered scenes of pagodas, bridges, cranes, bamboo and mandarins, all symbols of good fortune, are hand painted in gold and black on a rich garnet red ground with a crackle finish around the entire piece. Its construction of drawers and compartments is a marvel, providing a wealth of space for stationary and documents. Two large hinged slope side compartments form the D-structure. Two demi-lune pigeon holes and six smaller drawers flank a middle compartment. The desk apron, decorated with gilded fans and scenes, has three more drawers.
Retail - $1885.00
Dimensions : 45 in W x 41 in H x 28 in D
