Description :

This is a fine print of "Flaming June" by Sir Frederic Leighton.  Wonderfully framed and under glass.

History:

"Flaming June" is an oil painting completed in 1895 by Sir Frederic Leighton. It is one of Leighton's most recognizable works, depicting a sleeping woman in flowing orange robes.

The artwork is considered a masterpiece and an icon of Victorian art. The pose of the figure was inspired by Michelangelo's sculpture "Night". The oleander flowers in the painting may symbolize death or danger. It is currently on loan to the Royal Academy of Arts in London until January 12, 2025. The painting is owned by the Museo de Arte de Ponce in Puerto Rico.
