Description :
'The Rare Picture' Art on Titanium from 3 Different Artists "British Empire Exhibition 1924, Scenes of Empire
Series, No. P30" by Gerald Spencer Pryse. It was created for the British
Empire Exhibition in 1924. The print is part of the "Scenes of Empire
Series". It depicts a farmer plowing a field with two horses. The print
was made by Vincent Brooks, Day & Son, Ltd.
and Chester Cathedral, located in Chester, Cheshire, England. Originally
a Catholic church, it is now Protestant and over 900 years old. It was formerly
an abbey dedicated to Saint Werburgh and is now dedicated to Christ and the
Blessed Virgin Mary. It became the seat of the Bishop of Chester in 1541. The
cathedral was built as a Benedictine monastery in 1092. It features
architecture spanning from Norman to Perpendicular styles. and Created by Christine Priddy on titanium. The artwork depicts
a serene landscape with birch trees dominating the foreground, their slender
white trunks contrasting with the darker foliage and undergrowth. A body of
water, likely a lake or river, reflects the trees and sky, adding depth to the
scene. In the background, a softly rendered landscape with hints of buildings
or structures suggests a rural setting. The use of titanium as a medium could
lend a unique metallic sheen or texture to the artwork, although this is
difficult to discern from the image alone. The piece is framed with a double
border, an inner velvet-like material and an outer wooden frame, enhancing its
presentation. Christine Priddy is listed as an artist in the UK. Without
further information, it's challenging to provide more specific details about
the artwork's creation or its significance within Priddy's body of work.
