Description :
Three Hand-Carved Wooden Masks A group of three carved wooden masks, each distinct in style and origin. The set includes: A red-brown mask with intricate black geometric and tribal-style carvings, featuring closed eyes and an open mouth. Inscription on the reverse notes it was purchased in Bontang, Kalimantan, Indonesia, and marked “Made in Lombok.” A long, narrow light-toned mask with carved features and an ornate headdress. A dark-toned mask with elongated form, linear carvings, and an expressive face. The reverse contains a handwritten note stating it was acquired in Matadi, Zaire, in 1984, and describes the face as modeled after a Congo tribal chief with ritual markings. Measurements: Approx. 13.5 x 17 inches
