Description :
"A Trainer with Swagger" Superbly Crafted…beautiful to look at…prop to tail 16 inches and 8 inches tall…wing span 19 inches…made of Mahogany. History of the T-28 Trojan: Back in the 1950s, when aviator sunglasses were practically a personality trait, the North American T-28 Trojan burst onto the scene as the U.S. military’s new go-to trainer plane. Designed to replace the aging T-6 Texan, the Trojan wasn’t just a classroom in the sky—it was a flying muscle car with wings. Built Tough: With a radial engine that roared like a lion and a frame that could take a beating, the T-28 was the kind of plane that made student pilots feel like aces before they even earned their wings. Navy’s Favorite: The Navy loved it so much they kept it around until 1984, using it for everything from basic flight training to carrier landing practice (yes, it had a tailhook!). Double Duty: Not content with just teaching rookies, the Trojan moonlighted as a counter-insurgency aircraft during the Vietnam War. It carried bombs, rockets, and even napalm—talk about a career pivot. Global Fame: Nearly 2,000 were built, and they flew for over 30 countries. It was the kind of plane that got invited to all the cool hangars. Today, the T-28 lives on as a beloved warbird in airshows, where it still turns heads and rattles eardrums. And this handcrafted mahogany model? It’s like having a piece of aviation swagger parked right on your shelf.
