Description :

Seattle World’s Fair & Pioneer Seattle Memorabilia – Century 21 Expo (1962) & First Edition Bill Speidel

A small but distinctive collection celebrating Seattle’s history — from the futuristic Century 21 Exposition of 1962 to the city’s pioneer roots.

Included in this lot:

  • Century 21 Seattle World’s Fair Plate (1962)

    • White ceramic souvenir plate featuring a colorful aerial illustration of the fairgrounds with the Space Needle at center.

    • Diameter approx. 10.25".

  • Seattle World’s Fair Decorative Gold-Trimmed Plate (1962)

    • Ornate souvenir plate with scalloped gold edging and multi-color graphics of the Space Needle, Monorail, and fair pavilions.

    • Diameter approx. 6.25".

  • Doc Maynard: The Man Who Invented Seattle by Bill Speidel

    • First Edition paperback, by the noted Seattle historian and founder of the Underground Tour.

    • Chronicles the life of Doc Maynard, one of Seattle’s founding figures and early civic promoters.

    • Measurements: approx. 8.5" x 5.5".

Condition:

  • Plates retain vivid color with light surface wear consistent with display use.

  • First edition book shows minor edge wear but remains intact and highly collectible.

Collecting Notes:
This set bridges two defining eras of Seattle’s identity — the pioneer vision of Doc Maynard and the forward-looking optimism of the 1962 World’s Fair. A well-rounded grouping for collectors of Pacific Northwest history and Space Needle memorabilia.
