Description :

Striking bronze tripod bowl inspired by late Villanovan and early Etruscan ritual vessels. The piece features three stylized legs cast in openwork form, each depicting an abstract horse and rider. The surface displays a mottled green patina that enhances its ancient appearance.

Details:

  • Material: Bronze with verdigris patina

  • Design: Tripod form with three sculptural horsemen legs

  • Style: Modeled after Villanovan and Etruscan examples (ca. 700–650 BCE)

Note:
Comparable in form to ancient bronze basins held at the British Museum and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which feature similar abstract horsemen motifs from early Italic cultures. This example reflects the enduring influence of Etruscan design in modern bronze craftsmanship.
