Bidding

Placing a Bid

  • Enter a dollar amount in the bid box.

  • The system saves this amount as your maximum bid (also called a proxy bid).

  • The system will only raise the active bid to the next minimum bid increment, not to your full maximum.

    • Example: If the current bid is $6 and you enter $20, the system will place the next required bid—$7—and will continue bidding on your behalf only if another bidder competes.

Changing Your Maximum Bid

  • You may increase or decrease your maximum bid at any time.

  • Any new bid must be at least the next minimum bid increment above the current active bid.

    • Example: You accidentally entered a $1000 maximum but want it to be $100.

      • The current active bid is $75.

      • You may enter $100, or as little as $76, because $76 is the next required increment.

Bid Increments

  • $1 – $100 → $1 increments

  • $100.01 – $500 → $5 increments

  • $500.01 – $1000 → $10 increments

  • $1000.01 – $2500 → $25 increments

  • $2500.01 – $5000 → $50 increments

  • $5000.01+ → $100 increments

Soft Close / Extended Bidding

This auction uses a soft close system.

  • If two or more bidders place bids within the final 2 minutes, the clock will automatically extend by 2 additional minutes.

  • Extensions continue until all active bidding stops.

  • Once bidding stops, the timer counts down from the last bid placed.
