Description :

Couroc Mid Century Modern Decorative dishes. Made in Monterey CA.

Overview: Two black lacquered decorative dishes are shown, one rectangular above and one round below, both featuring colorful inlaid designs.

Rectangular plate: Depicts a stylized village scene with three wooden houses; one house has a visible "FISH" sign and another shows a fish motif on the roof. The houses use varied textures and colors, and a small ladder leads up to the middle house.

Round plate: Shows a colorful Kachina figure in traditional-style regalia, richly detailed in red, yellow, blue, and gold, suggesting a cultural or mythological character.

Artistry and impression: The high-contrast black lacquer background highlights the fine inlay craftsmanship, intricate patterns, and cultural motifs, giving the pieces clear artistic and cultural significance.
