Description :
Several of the pieces with the honeycomb pattern are fossil corals from the Devonian period. Each “cell” was once a coral polyp. When polished, they show: Distinct hexagonal chambers A soft gray‑tan palette Radiating internal lines from each center They’re ancient reef fragments turned into smooth, tactile stones. The stone with the swirling, layered bands is a banded agate. It formed when silica-rich fluids deposited microscopic layers inside a cavity. Hallmarks include: Concentric or fortification-style banding High translucency A glossy polish that brings out the pattern It adds a nice contrast to the fossil textures. You’ve also got a few elongated, smooth stones in deeper colors: Dark blue— possibly sodalite or dumortierite Golden brown— could be tiger’s eye or a banded jasper Reddish— likely jasper or carnelian These pieces bring in richer tones and a more “gemmy” feel compared to the fossils and agate. A mix of organic fossilsand inorganic minerals A range of textures: honeycomb, banded, glassy, silky A palette that moves from neutrals to deep jewel tones Varied shapes that keep the eye movingThe Fossils
