Description :
A classic Victorian sporting print from the celebrated series Herring’s Fox-Hunting Scenes, depicting the dramatic moment known as “Full Cry”—when horse and hounds surge forward at top speed. The composition captures the energy of the hunt with finely detailed riders in red coats, galloping horses, and a sweeping English countryside backdrop. This example is a hand-colored engraving, richly tinted in period style. The plate is titled “FULL CRY” beneath the image, with the series title above. Along the lower margin appears the original publication line: “London, Published October 1867 by R. Dodson, 147 Strand.” The work is after John Frederick Herring Sr., one of the most influential British sporting artists of the 19th century, whose fox-hunting scenes remain highly collectible. Professionally matted and housed in a traditional wood frame, this piece presents beautifully as wall décor for a study, library, or equestrian-themed interior.
