Artist Bio

Karlis Rekevics (b. 1970) is an American sculptor and visual artist known for his explorations of urban form, industrial materials, and the tension between structure and impermanence. His work often incorporates cast concrete, wood, and steel, translating architectural fragments into sculptural studies of memory, environment, and spatial disruption. Before establishing his studio practice in New York, Rekevics spent time in Seattle, where he produced a series of drawings and monochrome abstractions that informed his later sculptural vocabulary. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with pieces held in private and institutional collections.
