Description :

Pair of vintage Japanese ceramic vases, each finished in a deep cobalt glaze and decorated with detailed gilt and multicolor enamel work. Both pieces feature a stylized phoenix surrounded by flowering branches, rendered in raised and painted accents that highlight the gold, white, green, and purple palette.

The taller vase has a rounded body with a flared rim and displays the phoenix in full profile with elaborate tail feathers. The second vase is a hexagonal form with a fitted lid topped by a small bird finial, echoing the avian theme. Underside mark on one piece reads “JAPAN,” indicating mid‑20th‑century export production.

Surfaces show crisp detailing and strong color retention. Light wear consistent with age and handling. A decorative pair suitable for display, collectors of Japanese export ceramics, or those drawn to gilt enamel artistry.

Dimensions : 3-4 in W x 6-7.5 in H
