An enchanting collection of vintage folklore books featuring the art of legendary illustrator Brian Froud and Rien Poortvliet.

This lot includes a vintage first US edition of Fairies, which shows signs of aging and wear consistent with its history but remains in great shape overall. Also included are Gnomes books in great condition, with some age-related discoloration present on the paper covers. A wonderful acquisition for collectors of fantasy art, vintage literature, or cinematic history.

About the Artist: Brian Froud

Brian Froud is an acclaimed English fantasy illustrator whose distinct, intricate style has profoundly shaped the modern visual landscape of faerie lore and screen fantasy. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Froud has become world-renowned for his ability to capture the complex, sometimes mischievous, and deeply organic nature of folklore.

He is perhaps best known globally for his seminal work as the conceptual designer for Jim Henson's iconic dark fantasy films, The Dark Crystal (1982) and Labyrinth (1986). Alongside his groundbreaking cinematic contributions, his published book Fairies (collaborated with Alan Lee) became an international bestseller, cementing his legacy as a master of the mythic arts.

Gnome books are in great condition, paper cover shows discoloration.

Invoices are emailed to winning bidders once the sale has completely closed.Full payment must be made by 8:00 p.m. the day after auction closes. If total payment is not received before the pick-up date & time, items will be forfeited, and bidding privileges revoked.

Pick-up information will be on the invoice e-mailed after the auction closes.All items not picked up during the designated times will be considered abandoned and may be donated or resold. When possible, and at our sole discretion, an alternate pick-up time may be arranged. If this is possible, an appropriate fee will be charged.

A 10% Buyer's Premium and Sales Tax are added to the winning bid amount when invoiced. Sales tax is waived for licensed re-sellers.
