Description :

A decorative beer stein collection featuring colorful tavern scenes, Munich architecture and clear molded glass. Hinged metal lids and varied thumb lifts give the grouping a traditional European beer-hall character.

Details

  • Tall relief-decorated ceramic stein with a cobalt-blue background, seated figures, German lettering and a pointed metal lid.
  • A wind-up musical mechanism beneath the tall stein bears a Thorens Movement label naming the tune “Harry Lime Theme.” Musical operation is untested.
  • Clear molded-glass stein marked 0.5 L, with a decorative tiered metal lid.
  • Cream-and-white ceramic stein marked 0.4 L, with scenic decoration, colored bands and a pointed metal lid.
  • Munich souvenir stein with a colorful cityscape and “Zur Gaudi in München” banner.
  • One lid attachment bears a Rein Zinn marking. Exact metal composition of the remaining fittings is unconfirmed.
  • Individual makers and production dates are not established.

Measurements

  • Recorded height range: approximately 8.5"–11".
  • Capacity markings include 0.4 L and 0.5 L.

Highlights

The musical mechanism adds interest beyond the usual souvenir stein, while the Munich cityscape and relief tavern scene offer contrasting collecting themes. The clear glass example provides a simpler companion to the decorated ceramic pieces.

Condition

Previously owned with surface marks, interior discoloration and residue. Metal lids and fittings show tarnish, oxidation and scratches. Wear is present around handles, rims and bases. Musical operation, hinge tightness and liquid retention have not been verified. Please review the photographs for individual condition details.
