Description :

Signed C. R. BACA (Carla BACA) handcrafted Storyteller doll/figurine of man holding children. C.R. BACA is from the Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico.  Feather symbols on back of the Storyteller represent Respect, Honor, Strength, Courage, and Wisdom. The cheeks of the Storyteller are a trademark of the Jemez Pueblo as well as the open mouths, along with the colors of red & black on tan clay color. The Storyteller symbolizes the historic heritage of oral story telling of the history or legends to younger generations. 

The handwoven rug has diamond shapes denoting the homeland's four sacred corners that are marked by the four sacred mountains.

Doll is 4.75” tall x 2” wide x 3” long.

Rug (8” x 6.25”) is handwoven 100% wool and from the Southwest.
