Description :

The first of the two small Navajo pots is a Navajo Bean pot with ladle & four spoons made by Betty Manygoats.  Betty was taught at a young age how to make jewelry and weave. At 12yrs old, Betty's grandmother taught her how to make functional pottery and thus began a long career of making pottery. A trademark of Betty's is over exaggerated designs on her pottery work like a horned frog and large/raised corn. There are two corn husks on this bean pot. All pieces to this set are in good condition. Bean Pot with lid and spoons measure 5” tall x 5” wide

Small Navajo pot made by Ken & Irene White with zig zag square opening is in good condition. This pot has some meaningful symbols on it, first of which is the eagle feather. This feather is a symbol of courage, wisdom, strength and often worn by the chief of a tribe. Another symbol seen on this pot are corn stalks. Corn was a staple of food in the Native American life, but also a symbol of life, fertility, and prosperity. A Medicine Man is painted (square head figure) as a symbol of healing. Pot with etchings measures 4.5” tall x 4.5” round.
