Description :

Client's father was a big game hunter from Alaska who hunted in the Americas and Asia. These are from his reference collection. See photos to judge condition for yourself. Both volumes have bookplates noting they were part of the collection of the Manchester Reform Club, a Victorian era gentlemen's club in England.

THE BADMINTON LIBRARY OF SPORTS AND PASTIMES – BIG GAME SHOOTING – Duke of Beaufort, ed. Hardcover. 1894, Longmans, Green, & Co. (London, UK). Vol. 1: 453 pages. Vol. 2: 443 pages. Both Volumes 1 & 2 about big game shooting at the end of the 19th C. Includes sections covering the Arctic to the Caucuses to Spain along with chapters on taxidermy, staffing, and practicalities of transport while on hunts. Game included goes from from polar bears to ibex to giraffe. Very much a product of its time period given the range of game animals hunted almost to extinction that are mentioned such as elephants, lions, & rhinos.

Both books are in used condition with wear, but still very serviceable. Please see photos for details.

Invoices are emailed to winning bidders once the sale has completely closed.Full payment must be made by 8:00 p.m. the day after auction closes. If total payment is not received before the pick-up date & time, items will be forfeited, and bidding privileges revoked.

Pick-up information will be on the invoice e-mailed after the auction closes.All items not picked up during the designated times will be considered abandoned and may be donated or resold. When possible, and at our sole discretion, an alternate pick-up time may be arranged. If this is possible, an appropriate fee will be charged.

A 10% Buyer's Premium and Sales Tax are added to the winning bid amount when invoiced. Sales tax is waived for licensed re-sellers.
