Description :
Blast off into space with these 5 rocket-themed vintage games;
these game boards would make terrific backgrounds for display of robots or
other space items if you choose not to use them as games:
“Count Down Space Game” from Transogram Gold Medal Toys &
Games. Model #3803-100. Nice gameboard, vintage graphic spinner, and 7 of the 8
markers are present. The base for the 8th marker is present, but the
cardboard cut-out is missing as are the instructions. New owner will have to
track down the rules of the game.
“Leave it to Beaver Rocket to the Moon Space Game” from Hasbro/Hassenfeld
Brothers (1959). Model #2635-100. This game is not playable as too many pieces
are missing. You would want to own it for display/graphic purposes.
“Men into Space” from Milton-Bradley (1960) Model #4003.
Definitely our favorite game in this auction. Love the astronaut looking into
space from the lunar surface on the gameboard. Spinner with game rules, board,
16 game pieces and cards – all components are there. This is a great game in
both visual allure & condition.
“Blast-Off” from Waddington (1969) Model #407. Simple deep blue
board, instruction manual, 4 space modules & matching rockets, thruster
cards, die, master control board, and individual control boards. We aren’t sure if something is missing - there are 4 compartments in the blue plastic packaging, but all things
mentioned in the rulebook appear to be present. Note that one spinner arm on
the master control board is not attached – it is present for the new owner to
reattach.
“Earth Satellite Game” from Gabriel (1956) Model #t-453. This
game is a very close second to Men into Space in terms of the most appealing of
the games in this lot – fabulous period graphics and coloring! Spinner
board, game cards, Moon/meteor/asteroid, 4 player pieces, and instruction
booklet – all components appear to be there.
