Notes about the Original Painting: The original handscroll painting was created by the Song dynasty painter Zhang Zeduan (1085–1145).  It depicts the daily life of people and the landscape of Bianjing (present-day Kaifeng), the capital during the Northern Song dynasty, particularly around the Qingming Festival. The painting is considered one of the best-known Chinese traditional paintings and a Class I National Treasure, currently housed in the Forbidden City Museum in Beijing.
