Launched by America Remembers with authorization from John Wayne Enterprises, this commemorative Thompson-style firearm pays homage to both the actor’s legendary support of the troops and the real military heroes he portrayed in his WWII films. The edition was intentionally capped at just 1,000 numbered units, each paired with a Certificate of Authenticity

Historical Significance of the Thompson
The Thompson submachine gun, revered in World War II for its firepower and reliability, earned its reputation in both combat zones and Hollywood. Known as one of the most iconic firearms of the Allied forces, the Thompson remained in use through Korea and Vietnam.

Artistry & Design Elements

The receiver is lavishly adorned on both sides: one side features John Wayne’s portraits and signature quotes like “All battles are fought by scared men … who’d rather be someplace else!” and “We all owe a debt to the men who fight for our freedom.” The opposite side shows Wayne leading troops forward beneath the banner “Freedom Is Never Free!” and “A man oughta do what he thinks is best,” all rendered in 24-karat gold over a deep blue mirrored finish. The polished walnut stock further enhances the memorial aesthetic
