Description :

Vintage Mid-Century Brass Wall Art – Set of Two Cattail & Reeds Plaques

This vintage mid-century modern wall art set features two coordinating plaques, each with hand-cut and layered brass sculptural elements mounted on textured wood backings. The dimensional metalwork depicts naturalistic cattails, grasses, and water reeds, finished in tones of brass, bronze, and copper with light patina.

  • Era: Circa 1960s–1970s

  • Material: Brass / mixed metals on wood backboards

  • Design: Cattail and water reed scenes in dimensional relief

  • Measurements: Approx. 16"–18" tall × 8"–10" wide each

  • Condition: Good vintage condition with light age-related patina to metal and wear to wood backing, consistent with age.

Value Note: Similar mid-century brass wall art panels sell in the $120–$275 range for pairs, depending on size, detail, and maker attribution.

Historical Note: Brass wall sculptures like these gained popularity during the mid-century modern era, especially influenced by designers such as Curtis Jere, who pioneered mixed-metal wall décor in organic and abstract forms. These cattail motifs embody the era’s fascination with natural themes interpreted through modern materials and dimensional design.
