Description :
A striking example of 1970s American studio glass artistry, this iridescent pulled feather paperweight displays flowing symmetrical feather patterns in radiant hues of cobalt blue, copper, and gold. The shimmering surface reveals abstract teardrop and heart-like motifs surrounded by intricate feathering, creating a hypnotic sense of movement and depth. The piece is etched on the base “57 @ 1977,” a mark consistent with early Orient & Flume production dating from the late 1970s. The delicate luster and precision patterning embody the distinctive quality and craftsmanship for which the studio became renowned. Dimensions: Approx. 3" diameter Founded in 1972 in Chico, California, Orient & Flume quickly rose to prominence as one of the leading American studio glass houses of the modern art glass movement. Known for their brilliant use of iridescence, luster techniques, and complex encased designs, the studio’s artists produced both decorative and collectible works inspired by Tiffany and Loetz traditions. Early examples from the 1970s—like this piece—were often individually numbered and dated, reflecting the studio’s emphasis on craftsmanship and limited production artistry.
Markings: Etched “57 @ 1977” on base
Dimensions : 2.5 in H
