Description :

A World War II–era U.S. Army Signal Corps Test Set I‑49 manufactured by Leeds & Northrup Co., Philadelphia. This portable electrical testing instrument is housed in its original wooden case with metal hardware and a fitted interior. The unit features multiple rotary dials, labeled controls, terminals, and several factory instruction plates, including notes on dry‑cell replacement and its 1944 moisture and fungus‑resistant treatment.

The identification plate reads: Signal Corps U.S. Army, Test Set I‑49, Order No. 16555‑PHILA‑44, Made by Leeds & Northrup Co., Philadelphia, PA, U.S.A.The interior lid retains its detailed instruction panel, and the components appear visually complete.

This instrument is untested, and its working condition is unknown. A strong example of WWII communications and electrical testing history, suitable for collectors of military equipment or vintage scientific instruments.
