Description :

A substantial 19th‑century salt‑glazed stoneware jug marked 3 and stamped EDMANDS & CO., representing the well‑known Charlestown, Massachusetts pottery. The jug features a warm buff body, rounded shoulder, narrow neck, and applied handle, all finished in a smooth salt glaze typical of New England utilitarian ware.

The front displays a bold cobalt slip‑trailed floral motif, a signature decorative element of the pottery’s mid‑century production. The cobalt remains strong and visually striking, offering both collector appeal and decorative presence.

Clear maker’s stamp, consistent glaze, and an intact handle. A classic example of regional American stoneware in a desirable larger capacity.

Condition Notes: Surface wear and firing irregularities consistent with age and use. No structural issues observed in the lot photos.

Dimensions : 10 in W x 16 in H
