Description :
Venice, Italy by Bert Wright captures a panoramic view of the historic city with its iconic domes, towers, and terracotta rooftops rising above lush foreground greenery. Wright’s watercolor technique emphasizes soft atmospheric light, delicate architectural detail, and the warm tonal shifts that define Venice’s skyline. The composition balances structure and openness, giving the viewer both the intimacy of the city’s forms and the expansive sweep of the surrounding landscape. It is a refined, classically executed work that reflects Wright’s strength in European cityscapes. Bert Wright is an American watercolorist known for his finely detailed European landscapes, architectural studies, and travel‑inspired city scenes. His work is characterized by controlled washes, precise linework, and a strong sense of atmosphere—qualities that have made his paintings popular with collectors of traditional watercolor. Wright studied fine art and watercolor technique through formal training and extensive travel, developing a style rooted in classical draftsmanship and plein‑air observation. His paintings have been shown in multiple regional galleries and juried exhibitions throughout the Pacific Northwest and California, including long‑standing representation in galleries specializing in traditional watercolor and travel‑themed works. His art is held in private collections across the U.S., valued for its clarity, craftsmanship, and its ability to capture the character of historic European settings.Artist Bio — Bert Wright
