Description :

A well‑preserved example of mid‑century laboratory instrumentation, this Leeds & Northrup Type 8662 potentiometer is housed in its original fitted wooden case and retains its metal manufacturer’s plate (Type No. 8662, Cat. No. 8662, Serial No. 142470). Markings indicate prior use at the University of Washington, consistent with the era in which these precision electrical instruments were standard in academic and industrial research labs.

The lot includes the primary control panel with selector knobs, galvanometer, terminals, and caution plates, along with wiring, glass electrodes, and additional components shown. Original instruction sheets accompany the instrument, outlining assembly, volt‑scale operation, calibration procedures, and maintenance guidelines. Internal wiring and connectors appear intact, and the case hardware functions properly.

A strong addition for collectors of scientific instruments, early electrical measurement devices, or university laboratory history. Offered as found from the estate, with age‑appropriate wear from long‑term storage and prior academic use.
