Description :

A refined five‑issue lot of vintage LIFE magazines, each representing a distinct cultural or historical moment from 1968–1969. This grouping brings together key space‑race reporting, a literary feature of lasting significance, and a sought‑after double issue on biblical history.

Included issues:

  • December 20, 1968 – A literary‑focused issue featuring Mark Twain’s previously unpublished manuscript, offering rare insight into his creative process.

  • January 17, 1969 – “Our Journey to the Moon,” combining Apollo mission coverage with reporting on Sirhan Sirhan in jail, reflecting the era’s scientific ambition and national turmoil.

  • March 14, 1969 – The LEM (Lunar Excursion Module) issue, documenting the engineering and construction of the spacecraft that would carry astronauts to the lunar surface.

  • July 25, 1969 – Post‑Apollo 11 coverage capturing the moon‑landing mission and its global impact.

  • Special Double Issue: The Bible – A richly illustrated edition exploring biblical history, interpretation, and cultural influence.

The magazines show age‑appropriate wear consistent with mid‑century handling. Covers remain visually strong, with compelling imagery ranging from lunar module engineering to historic religious illustration and a portrait of Mark Twain.

A cohesive and desirable grouping for collectors of space‑race history, American literature, and vintage LIFE publications.
