For your consideration, we have a selection of Portmeirion Pomona fruit-themed kitchen ceramics, along with a coordinating Botanic Garden canister. This lovely English-made collection includes two tall fruit-decorated canisters, one smaller floral canister, a rounded pot and a rectangular baking dish. All three canisters include wooden lids. The “Goddess of Fruit” Pomona series features detailed botanical fruit illustrations selected by designer Susan Williams-Ellis, bringing colorful orchard branches, leaves and blossoms to white ceramic.

• Small canister: approximately 4" across × 3" H.
• Tall canisters: approximately 4.75" across × 7⅝" H and 5" across × 7⅞" H.
• Canister heights exclude lids.

Condition

Previously owned with scattered surface marks, light interior residue and discoloration around the foot rings. The baking dish shows staining and wear along its ribbed underside. Wooden lids have scratches, spotting and finish wear. Lid seals have not been tested for airtightness. Please review the photographs.

Highlights

• Pomona, named for the ancient goddess of fruit, pairs detailed fruit studies with crisp white ceramic. Its illustrations were adapted from hand-coloured botanical books of the 1830s. Susan Williams-Ellis designed the collection’s rounded “Romantic” shapes in 1982, taking inspiration from seed pods and gourds.
• The smaller canister complements the fruit designs with Botanic Garden, created by Williams-Ellis in 1972. Together, the two patterns bring the character of an English garden and orchard to everyday kitchenware.
